If you have young children and live in the central PA area then a trip to Paulus FarmPark is a must do activity! The combination of animals to visit and fun activities to do will delight the young and young at heart.

My favorite animals were the sheep. The one side of their enclosure is a giant face-in-the-hole board except for instead of putting your face in the hole for a photo op, the sheep stick their faces out at you, looking for any treats you might have for them. I would recommend purchasing either apple slices or a treat bag when you pay for your admission, so that you have something to give these cute little guys. In addition to the sheep, Paulus has goats, donkeys, chickens, pheasants, pigs, rabbits, and Highland cattle. You are free to feed most of the animals, although a few had signs requesting that you don’t due to dietary restrictions. Most of the animal enclosures are fairly large but you are able to walk all around them so you don’t have to worry about not being able to see an animal that might be on the other side of the pen.
Around the FarmPark there are fun activities for kids. There are several slides, including one that has the kids walk through the driver’s area of a combine to get to the top of it. There are a few different types of swings, including some that are made out of tires and look like horses and one that the kids can stand on. There is a dirt kitchen where the kids can whip up a yummy mud pie. Tractor loving kids will enjoy pretending to drive the real tractor. Budding musicians will enjoy trying to tap out a tune on the different percussion instruments. There is also a giant rocking goat, a place to shoot some hoops, a gravel pit, and a HUGE sand area filled with all kinds of toy vehicles. In the fall, there is also a small corn maze.
Admission during the spring and summer is $5.50 for 2–70-year-olds. Fall weekdays are $6.50 and fall weekends are $9. Paulus also offers a season pass option. There are several picnic tables in the FarmPark and we saw families bringing in picnic lunches. If you aren’t prepared with a packed lunch, you could always pop into the farm stand and get something tasty there. There is also an ice cream stand, offering hard and soft ice cream, milkshakes, sundaes, and floats.
My Takeaway
You can easily spend several hours enjoying the animals and activities. We spent two hours there and would have stayed longer except for the fact that it was extremely hot the day we visited. If you have young children, I would definitely recommend you take a trip to Paulus FarmPark.
